Michael T. Marozzo, 27, formerly of Libby

| October 10, 2012 1:51 PM

Michael Thomas Marozzo, 27, died in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident in Hill City, S.D., on Sept. 29, 2012.

Michael was born on May 14, 1985, in Kalispell, to Robert and Maria (Woods) Marozzo.  Michael grew up in Libby; he attended Asa Wood Elementary School, Libby Middle School and was a 2003 graduate of Libby High School.

After high school, Mike attended college and graduated in May 2008 from Boise State University with a degree in construction management.

Mike worked hard and played hard.  He would never leave a job undone, but would seldom miss an opportunity to spend time at the lake with family and friends.

Mike participated in many sports, but was fond of Libby Logger football and continued to keep track of the BSU Broncos.   He especially enjoyed water skiing and riding his motorcycle.

Mike’s career started with Lydig Construction in Pasco, Wash.  It progressed through projects in Northport, Wash., Carlsbad, N.M., and ended as the on-site project manager in Rapid City, S.D., for CCC Group Inc.

From a very young age and all through his life, Mike surrounded himself with good people and had high-quality relationships.  Although work required that he travel, Mike’s love for western Montana was ever present.

Mike was honest and his word bonded him.  He was loved immensely and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his father, Robert Marozzo of Libby; sister Angela Marozzo and husband Todd Brinkmeyer of Post Falls, Idaho; three brothers James Marozzo of Libby, Jeffrey Marozzo and wife Neili of Richland, Wash., and Daniel Marozzo of Libby; nieces and nephew, Daysha, Dylan, and Allyson Marozzo; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Maria; grandparents Glenn and Rose Woods, Carmen and Rosanne Marozzo; uncles Dan Woods and Brian Woods; and cousins Zach Newman and Greg Woods.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Libby Christian Church; urn burial will follow the service at Libby Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marozzo Memorial Fund at 6654 E. Maplewood Avenue, Post Falls, Idaho, 83854.

Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
