Reader is critical of the EPA dirt milestone

| October 2, 2012 12:41 PM

Letter to the Editor,

Whoopee! The EPA is celebrating the millionth load of dirt being hauled and so proudly they announced it actually was 2 million because they hauled back in another million.

The only one who benefited was the truck driver who got a bonus. I would love to know how many of our taxpayer dollars were wasted in the process. I have asked for an accounting, but, of course, that’s a secret. Do you suppose they would be ashamed to tell us?

If just a minute amount of the money being wasted would go to the people who are really hurting then there would be some sense to it.

While writing this, I glanced through the local gazette and found something I could hardly believe.

It was discussing bear spray and how to use it. A very informative article and towards the end it said be sure to use a bear spray that is registered with the EPA.

So, don’t forget, if a grizzly is coming at you, check the label to see if it is OK to use according to the EPA–amazing isn’t it!
