Ford effort garners $600 for Koats 4 Kids

Few charities in Libby had the recognition and widespread support as the Kiwanis’ Koats 4 Kids effort that provides winter clothing for Lincoln County youth and needy families.
Last week, the folks at Timberline Auto Center showed their enthusiasm for this program by making it part of their “Go Further with Ford” promotion.
Held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, and which was part of a national promotion, Timberline promised to donate $10 for every person who visited the dealership.
Attendees had the opportunity to register for a chance to be a guest judge on American Idol and in the process have a chance to win the newly redesigned Ford Fusion.
Timberline agreed to donate $10 to Koats 4 Kids for each person who visited the dealership up to 50.
The dealership had 52 visitors during the four-hour promotion.
“What can I say,” said Kiwanis Representative Pam Peppenger. “They promised us $10 for the first 50. They had 52 guests and we got $600. This just means so much to our program,” Peppenger said.
Koats 4 Kids is a countywide program sponsored by the Kootenai Kiwanis. The program provides not only coats for children and their family members but hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and even boots for children.
Persons wishing to donate to Koats for Kids may do so at various drop boxes throughout Libby.
Also as part of the promotion, a paid lunch and dinner were awarded. Peggy Williams win the lunch; Adrene Adams won the supper.
