Renowned pianist to perform at Center

Get ready for a rare treat this holiday season when concert pianist Christopher Johnson comes all the way from New York City to perform a blockbuster piano recital on Saturday, Nov. 24, for his friends and family in Libby. 

Johnson currently performs as a soloist with orchestras and in chamber ensembles across the United States, Canada, Central America, South America and Europe, yet he has deep family roots in the Libby community. 

Johnson’s grandmother moved to Libby in 1940, where his father, Bobby Johnson, and his aunt, Carolyn Johnson-Alsbury, were both born and raised.

Johnson has been enthusiastically preparing for this event, where he will be performing a solo piano recital featuring a selection of compositions from Chopin, Gershwin and Debussy.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, where a variety of hors d’oeuvres, fine wines and other beverages will be served. 

The piano recital will begin at 7 p.m. and come to a dramatic and memorable end at 9 p.m.

Seating is limited. 

For advance ticket sales, please visit one of the locations in downtown Libby. Advance tickets can be purchased at Cabinet Books & Music, Rivermist and Rocky Mountain Music Store - 293-8238. Tickets are $20 which includes food and drinks. Student admission is only $10.
