Nora Sperry, 88, of Libby

Nora Sperry, 88, a resident of the Kootenai Valley for the past 44 years, died Wednesday morning at the Libby Care Center.  

Graveside services will be at noon Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at the City of Libby Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 25, 1924 at Beach, N.D., to Bert and Anna (Kramer) Sperry.

She spent her childhood years on the family farm at Trotters, N.D., near Beach. 

Nora had been a civil-service employee for the U.S. Weather Bureau in her earlier life.

She resided at Glasgow, Mont., where she met her life companion Wally Henkel; they moved to Great Falls and later came to Libby in 1968.  

Nora worked for a period of time for insurance agencies in Libby.

A person of simple pleasures, Nora had a special love for her pets and enjoyed playing cards and games.  

She also enjoyed singing and listening to music and is remembered by many for her enjoyment and talent at cooking.  

Preceding her in death are her companion Wally Henkel and sisters Grace and Bernice.

Surviving her is her much-loved sister Alice Metcalf of Billings, Mont.; and special friends Debbie Munro and family of Libby.

Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
