Raymond J. Haag, 81, of Libby
Raymond James Haag, 81, passed away at his home in Libby, on Nov. 1, 2012, of natural causes with his family by his side.
He was born on March 14, 1931, in Dickinson, N.D., to Martin and Christine Haag.
He attended Dickinson High School and was enlisted in Company K 164th Infantry Regiment that deployed to the Korean War where he received the bronze star.
On June 11, 1953, he married Marie Francis Therese Crowley. They made their home in Eugene, Ore., where they owned and operated two service stations.
He was an avid drag racer with an abundance of trophies, and a huge racing fan.
While in Eugene, they made their family complete by adopting two children. Throughout his life all of his family is what made him the happiest.
In 1979, they moved to Libby and purchased Bears Truck Stop.
In 1983, they moved to Southern California for 16 years then retired to Libby to be with their children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Terry; his son Tim; his daughter Johna Kilgore and her husband Tom; five grandchildren: Eric, Anna, Summor, Wynter and Chance; one great-granddaughter, Talyn; his brother David and wife Arliene Haag; his sister Kathy and her husband Hank Pankratz; his sister-in-laws, Gene Crowley of California; Kay Gebhardt of Oregon; and Diz Martin of Minnesota.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Richard; and his sister Shirley Hilgendorf.
