Yuletide shoppers get on the ready: Holiday Bazaar is set this weekend
Shoppers can get an early start on their Christmas shopping at the Holiday Bazaar this weekend.
On Friday, Nov. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. shoppers will be delighted with the variety of goods available from local artisans, some returning, and some new to the show.
In addition to the handcrafted items, the museum’s table will be overflowing with items and gift certificates that have been generously donated for this sale by local merchants and friends of the museum. All proceeds from this table at the bazaar go directly to the museum.
On Friday night, persons can come straight from work and have something to eat before or after shopping.
Kathy Lauer and her helpers will be serving chili in the cookhouse Friday evening.
On Saturday, Marge Kroeger and her crew will be serving grilled burgers, Polish sausages and pulled-pork sandwiches. Bakers will provide a nice selection of homemade pies and other delicious desserts both Friday and Saturday.
As always, admission is by donation.
The Holiday Bazaar is the museum’s main fundraiser of the year.
The museum depends on the Holiday Bazaar to cover the yearly insurance premium and the winter heating bills.
A large portion of the profit will come from the raffle.
First prize is $100 cash; second prize is dinner for two at The Venture, and a $20 gift certificate to La Enchilada Tex Mex.
Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and are available at Naturally Good Things, 313 California Ave., and at the museum.
The drawing will take place during the Holiday Bazaar at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. You need not be present to win.
