Baucus visits CARD Clinic, warmly met
U.S. Sen. Max Baucus received what amounted to a hero’s welcome Wednesday when he visited a CARD Clinic that has benefited immensely from funding the senior senatorial Democrat help to acquire.
Baucus and his entourage were greeted warmly by Centers for Asbestos-Related Disease board members and employees during his 90-plus minute meeting that included a sit-down with board members and a tour of the building.
“Yes, it’s so much better coming here for appointments now,” said Board Member Leota Brooks, 92, who also is a patient.
“I know I needed to come for my appointments, but I hated to come to that old cramped trailer,” Brooks said.
Board President Mike Giesley thanked Baucus for his support while Baucus said, “there still is much that needs to be done.”
