90th Birthday Mrs. Nellie Doak, who celebrated her 90th birthday on Saturday, May 26, was honored by visits from many friends. The youngest visitor, shown with Mrs. Doak, was the year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Swenson. The occasion was marked by an open house at Mrs. DoakÕs home. Mrs. Doak was married to William Edison Doak who died in 1948. William was related to inventor Thomas Edison through his grandmother. William and Nellie moved to their Pipe Creek ranch in 1908 and the present day Doak Creek is named after him. From the June 7, 1962, files of The Western News
