Porterville College has laid the foundation for a long list of dignitaries and the latest three people to be honored at PC’s Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday at River Island all acknowledged the same thing. PC laid the foundation for them as well.

Former softball greats Shayla Cain and Mandi Foss were the latest athletes to be inducted into PC’s Athletic Hall of Fame while Gary Reed received the Distinguished Alumni Award.

Foss attended PC from 2003-2005. She excelled as a student-athlete at PC, carrying a 3.71 grade point average. She was also named to the all-conference first team, was named to the all-region team and was named as an All-American.

She went on to play for Waldorf College in Iowa where she graduated with honors in 2007. She is now working on her master’s in Education at the University of Montana and will complete her master’s in August.

She currently is student teaching at Big Sky High School in Missoula, Montana and credits her student teaching mentors Matt Johnson and Jerry O’Reilly with her continued success in Education.

A 2003 Libby High School graduate, Foss is the daughter of Bruce and Judi Foss of Libby. She played center field for the Lady Loggers.
