Two Libby businesses have been recognized by the Montana Lottery officials with a Silver Anniversary Retailer Award, a special distinction reserved for Lottery retailers with 25 years of service to the Lottery.

The Montana Lottery is recognizing Rosauers No. 114 of Libby and Save-Rite South with the awards, as both have been offering lottery tickets since its first day of operation in 1987.

Rosauers and Save-Rite South are two of only 99 Montana businesses to be a Lottery retailer since the Lottery’s first day of operation in 1987. There are more than 800 retailers statewide today.

“As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we are also celebrating our retailers,” Lottery Director Angela Wong said. “We owe much of our success to our network of dedicated retailers.”

The Lottery is celebrating its 25th anniversary the entire month of June with drawings for cash, merchandise and tickets through the Player’s Club at montanalottery.com.

Additionally, the Lottery will host anniversary celebrations at its Helena headquarters and regional hubs around the state.

The main celebration is 1 to 3 p.m. June 25 at 2525 N. Montana Ave., Helena.

The regional event for Northwest Montana is 1 to 4 p.m. June 27 at Super 1 Foods, 1346 Highway 2 East, Kalispell.

The Montana Lottery was created by referendum in 1986. In the past 25 years it has paid out over $428 million to players in prizes and returned more than $193 million to the State of Montana.
