Edna Visger, 88, formerly of Libby

Edna Visger, 88, formerly of Libby, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at Pinewood Terrace Nursing Home, Colville, Wash., on June 8, 2012.

She was born Sept. 13, 1923, to Cally Wilson and Janet (Helps) Wilson at Fromberg, Mont. 

Her father died shortly after her birth. She grew up in eastern Montana and was adopted by her step-father, August Johnson. The family moved to Libby in 1936 where Edna graduated from Libby High School.

Edna married Paul Moody in 1942. The couple raised two daughters, Sandra and Callie, before Paul’s death in 1968.

She worked at The Western News and the Ford Dealership. She was a devoted member of the First Church of the Nazarene and a faithful Hospice volunteer. Edna spent countless hours visiting the sick at home, hospital and the care center.

She married Lawrence Visger in November 1976. 

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Paul Moody, son-in-law Rodney Collins, and her brother James Ellis Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Visger of Colville, Wash.; daughters Sandra Anderson and her husband, Roy of Pasco, Wash.; Callie Cash and her husband David of Stanwood, Wash.; stepdaughter Kimberly Bell and Stepson John Visger, both of Colville, Wash.; grandchildren Nicole Bell; Tonya Neuman; Marshall Visger; Mandy Smith; Jordan Colby; Kelly Hall; Tracie Colby; Noah Bell and Jadah Bell; sisters-in-law, Mary. E. Johnson; Patsy Elliot and Beverly Johnson; brother-in-law Floyd Visger and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for Edna at First Church of the Nazarene, Libby at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23.
