Annual golf tourney to benefit local health care

| June 13, 2012 7:08 PM

The 20th Annual St. John’s Lutheran Hospital Foundation’s Playing for Fundsies Golf Tournament is just around the corner.

As always, the foundation is preparing for a fun-filled 18-hole golf outing.  This year, the theme is safari and the tournament takes place on Saturday, June 16, at Cabinet View Golf Course.  All proceeds go for the benefit of St. John’s Lutheran Hospital to provide healthcare services locally.

This year’s tournament winners will receive $200, with a second-place prize of $100.

But as is always the case with this tournament, the fun and the winning doesn’t stop there.

There will be prizes for the best decorated golf cart, and the best dressed team and individual.

Golfers will also have a chance to win the closest to the pin, longest putt, and longest drive contests.  Or try their luck at the hole-in-one contest for the chance to win a brand new car.

“We are very excited about our safari theme this year,” said KC Hoyer, Executive Director of the Foundation.

“We are always eager to see what our players come up with for costumes and cart decorations. It’s their spirit and enthusiasm that make this event so much fun!”

“This year in addition to the regular contest and festivities, golfers can also look forward to a few new fun activities on the course such as the Safari risk/reward hole and the cobra eyes hole.  It’s not too late to sign up for this year’s tournament, but don’t wait…the course is filling fast.”

Registration for the St. John’s Lutheran Hospital Playing for Fundsies Tournament is $50/golfer and includes breakfast, tee prizes, 18 holes of golf, and dinner at the VFW where winners will be announced and golfers will dine on Safari Fare and have the chance to play raffles.

To register, please call Hoyer at 283-7140.
