We must question those with whom we have given power, reader contends
Letter to the Editor,
Politics, what is it good for?
If you have suffered the vile consequences of your own incompetent choices, do not contribute those consequences to someone else. You raised these men to a power over you and raised yourselves to servitude under them.
“What is power? Power is the sum total of the wills of the people transferred to one person. On what condition are the wills of the masses transferred to one person? On the condition that the person expresses the will of the people.
That is, power is power. Power is a word the meaning of which we do not understand. Power is the sum total of the wills of the masses transferred by express, or tacit agreement to rulers chosen by the masses,” said Tolstoy.
Each of you walks individually and sometimes very lightly in making your choices.
But, collectively, you are a set of simpletons, having neither commonality nor a sense of community or country.
You have listened to the rhetoric of those that you suppose to be leaders. They are the empty of heart and vain in tongue. And they play with words without regard to their deeds or actions, which was done before our own blind eyes.
These are men of great ambition. You follow them blindly and don’t look before you choose.
We the people, need to decide who we want to lead and guild by studying those things they experience sufficiently, those things that they choose to represent for us, the people of these United States.
We need to place our faith in those who will fulfill those duties with integrity, truth in word, and honesty. They should not have to worry about the consequences of that which is right.
The choice is not always the good against the bad; it sometimes is what the better of the two goods are. God gave us the right to choose. So we must ponder, study for those choices to be for the best.
This country will fail from within if we do not open our hearts as well as our minds to the consequences of our choices or lack thereof.
No matter what your beliefs as to any religion or creed, you still have the light of truth within you, listen to it.
This is the country many of us have chosen to live in and raise our families in, because of the freedoms we have and many have fought and died for. I admonish you as a freedom seeking people, it is a blessing, don’t waste it!
I write this in regards to this country’s situation and of the many choices that are to be made by those that will be put into political offices of this country.
There are those who have chosen these men then complain about the situation this country is in. Old saying: you made your bed, now you lay in it.
There has been some response to this letter, and they have chosen to be blind.
My intent is not to belittle, but to bring about that light that has dimmed on many that all will see what is in front of them as to the coming elections. Yes, there is a need for change, and we had better make the right changes.
