Troy Council members should 'grow up' or resign, reader says

Letter to the Editor,

Troy Pride??

What in the world has happened to those whose hands we have entrusted our city?

I use to have pride in telling folks I was from Troy, but now I am embarrassed!

My wife and I have spent the last few months with our family in Dillon.  While there I have read in the newspapers in Dillon, Butte, Missoula, Billings, Helena and the Flathead area about the confusion and lack of responsibility with the officials who run our city.

Now, that I am back I have been asked by folks in Libby what has happened in Troy.

In the past those Libby folks could not figure out why Troy was getting so much accomplished while Libby seemed to be slipping and sliding, and not much progress going on.

Now they wonder what the heck has happened here in Troy.

I can remember the pride I did have with our mayor and city council members in the past, i.e. Rodney Johnson, Jim Hammons, Ron Pearce, Loretta Jones to name a few.

Some of the things they were able to get done or give their support to was our fabulous city park, Troy Fourth of July celebration, new Senior Center, Troy Activity Center, upgraded water system, and new sewer system to name a few.

What have we accomplished and shown the public this past year? It’s been confusion and lack of responsibility.

We need to have that pride back we once had.

If we cannot have the governing body of Troy grow up and accept the responsibilities for the positions the voters honored them with, then they ALL need to resign and allow us to start with a fresh slate of folks and bring back the pride we once had.
