Student doctor joins Libby Clinic
Third-year medical student will spend five months in town
Third-year medical student, Tim O’Connor, will spend the next five months in Libby for an integrated-training experience.
O’Connor began his training at the Libby Clinic on Jan. 30.
His girlfriend, Tia Kramer and their dog Otis will be joining him in Libby on Feb. 17.
O’Connor moved to Seattle in 1998 to attend the University of Washington where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
“My graduation year and degree likely gave it away, but I am what medical schools often call a “non-traditional” student – someone who found the scenic route to medicine,” O’Connor said.
“I took a job out of college as a medical-device engineer, and after about four years I realized that I enjoyed the problem-solving aspect of engineering, but missed working more directly with people.”
