Zumba fitness craze catching on; MAC adds instructors
Looking for a great aerobic workout so you look your best in the spring?
Well, because of demand, the Montana Athletic Club in Libby has added more instructors for its Zumba program.
Zumba, is a Latin-inspired dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements creating a dynamic, exciting, exhilarating and effective fitness system.
MAC Instructors Kate Stephens, Devi McCully, Leslie Jaqueth, Ashley Day and Bonnie Morrow all have recently attended an exhilarating and intense Zumba workshop to become licensed instructors.
A Zumba class — known as a Zumba Fitness-Party — combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body using an aerobic fitness approach to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits.
The cardio-based dance movements are easy to follow steps, and dancers and non-dancers alike can easily master a Zumba class. Previous dance experience is not necessary.
A Zumba class creates a party-like atmosphere that provides a non-intimidating opportunity for non-dancers, new exercisers, or those who have previously hesitated to participate in group classes.
At the same time, dancers and veteran exercisers enjoy the change of pace—exercising in a healthy, fun, party-like environment. All students feel comfortable knowing that they can just go with the flow and enjoy the Zumba Fitness Party.
Zumba has been called “exercise in disguise” as you have a blast in class and don’t even feel like you’re exercising,” Bonnie Morrow, MAC Manager said.
Zumba is offered at MAC at 6 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Mondays, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesdays, and 5:45 p.m. Thursdays.
