Quinn, a junior, leads Libby in a season full of young players

When you are counted on to be the biggest playmaker for your basketball team as a junior in high school, it adds a lot of pressure on most kids.
Taylor Quinn just prefers to have fun with it.
The junior post has been playing basketball since fourth grade and, after starting some games last season for the Lady Loggers, comes into the season as the most-experienced player on the court.
“I just like playing the sport a lot,” she said. “It keeps me busy. Going out there and trying is my favorite part.”
Quinn was a middle hitter on the volleyball team as well, and the 5-foot 9-inch athlete has higher hopes for the basketball season than last year.
“I think we are all going to be pretty good this year,” she said.
She pointed out some younger teammates who played volleyball with her as potential players to keep an eye on. Hailey Craig, Hannah England and Devon Gallagher are three in particular who got some minutes last year and might make a mark.
Fellow junior Brooke Rosling is another player Quinn said could be a big playmaker for Libby.
Quinn hopes to play like the team played at the end of last season, a defensively tough squad that made teams force shots. It was a 180-degree turn from the beginning of the season.
“We started playing together and started playing better,” Quinn said of the rebound.
She and her team will get a chance to test offseason bonding and teamwork when the Lady Loggers take on Corvallis Dec. 7.
