Vieona E. Harma, 97, of Libby

Vieona E. Harma, 97, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Libby Care Center in Libby.  

She was born Nov. 24, 1914, at New Leipzig, N.D., to Charles and Maria Kyt.   She lived in New Leipzig until her marriage March 17, 1934, to John Harma.

They moved to Gilman, Colo., where John worked in the mines until being called in to the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. 

Vieona then moved back to the family farm in New Leipzig.  They moved to Libby in 1954 and Vieona taught Sunday school and enjoyed quilting with the Christ Lutheran Quilter Group.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, daughter Thelma, son George, sisters Helen, Vera, Dora, Erna and a brother Robert.

Survivors include her son Rod Harma, daughters  Jeanne Anglin and husband Bill, Irene Regh and husband, Jim; sister Myla Hertz; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and eight great, great-grandchildren.

She will be laid to rest with her husband, son and daughter in New Leipzig, N.D., at the Finnish Lutheran Cemetery.  

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Christ Lutheran Church in Libby.
