SJLH Auxiliary continues giving
The mission of the St. John’s Lutheran Hospital Auxiliary is to support St. John’s Lutheran Hospital with its time, talent, and the purchase of equipment.
In fiscal year 2011, the auxiliary upheld this mission in fine style by donating 5,459 hours of service and purchasing hospital equipment totaling $13,750; and they just keep on giving.
In early August of this year, the Auxiliary presented the hospital with a check for $4,600. This money will be used for the purchase of a Dynamap blood pressure machine for the Chemotherapy Department and new automatic bed for the Sleep Lab.
Linda Matthews, Chemotherapy Coordinator and Amy Reynolds, Manager of the Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Lab Departments thanked the auxiliary.
“My patients require constant monitoring,” stated Matthews.
“The machine that you so generously purchased for my department automatically takes my patient’s blood pressure and pulse readings. ... Thank you so much for your generosity.”
“The Sleep Lab also thanks you so much for our new bed,” added Reynolds. “We went down to the local furniture store just yesterday and worked with Mark Managhan to find the perfect bed for our sleep lab patients at an amazing price.”
Jan Kendall, SJLH Auxiliary President said the auxiliary is thrilled that these pieces of equipment mean so much to the hospital. “We are proud of the work we do, and are always happy to help.”
St. John’s Lutheran Hospital purchase new equipment so that they have the tools that they need to continue to provide healthcare services to our area.”
