C. Agnes Luchini, 90, formerly of Troy

| August 21, 2012 3:33 PM

Catharine Agnes (Robins) Luchini, 90, passed away on Aug. 10, 2012.

Born to Catharine (Dwyer) and Clarence Robins on July 25, 1922, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Agnes was the second of 10  children. She learned early on to be a big sister to her siblings and filled that role all of her days.

She attended high school in Troy, Mont., where she graduated at the top of her class. She attended North Idaho Junior College before marrying the love of her life, Primo Luchini.

They lived together in Harrison and Coeur d’Alene before settling in Post Falls for nearly 60 years. Together they raised two wonderful sons. Agnes worked for the post office and then for a bank for a number of years before retiring in the early 80s.

Agnes was very talented with a sewing machine and had an extremely annotated crossword puzzle dictionary. She was of a generation when family members were your closest friends, and over the years she enjoyed them on fishing trips, car trips, and family gatherings. Agnes was no nonsense and practical, frugal, yet generous. She loved her husband, kids, and grand kids as much as anything and was proud of them all.

Agnes is survived by her son Robin “Bob” (Sharon “Gus”) Luchini, her siblings, Virginia Osterberg, Patrick Robins, and Larry Robins, her grandchildren Tammy, Doug, Greg, Mariette “Pete”, Johanna “Joey”, and Jenn, and numerous great- and great-great- grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Primo, her son, Joseph “Joe”, her grandchildren, David, Robyn, and Theresa, and her siblings Florence, Madonna, Ray, Lee, Ben, and Dave.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene.

English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
