Bradley J. Watkins, 54, formerly of Libby

| August 18, 2012 2:29 PM

On Aug. 9, 2012, our beloved Bradley J. Watkins passed away at Health Center Northwest in Kalispell. Brad put up a valiant fight to conquer pancreatic cancer and asbestosis.

He was born Dec. 30, 1957, in Cushing, Okla., and graduated from high school in 1976.

Brad is survived by his loving wife, Tammie; son, Justin and wife Ashley and granddaughters Ari and Anna, and son Dylan, all of Columbia Falls.

He also is survived by his father, Earl, of Wyoming; and mother, LaNorma, and his sisters, Pam and Glenda, all of Oklahoma; his in-laws, Jack and Wilma Judkins of Troy; brother-in-law, Randy; and sisters-in-law, Michelle and Jackie. He also leaves behind his companion dog, Jeffie.

He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and many family and friends.

Brad grew up in Oklahoma, and in 1979 he moved to North Dakota to work in the oil fields. That was when he met the love of his life, Tammie, with whom he lived in Libby.

They married and have two wonderful sons, Justin and Dylan. They have made their home in Columbia Falls.

Brad loved his Montana. He loved to fish — especially bass, hunting in the fall and sports. Baseball kept him busy, either with playing, coaching or being an umpire. He was the biggest fan of the Kansas City Royals and the Chiefs.

He served in the Air Force and was a life member of the DAV. He was quite a poet, and we will treasure the words he wrote forever and always.

Brad loved spending time with family and friends and adored his granddaughters.

He never met a stranger and his life was spent helping others in need.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at New Covenant Church, 436 Birch Grove Road in Kalispell. There will be a dinner following the service.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Brad by helping someone in need.
