Floyd A. Jenkins, 60, of Troy

Floyd A. Jenkins, 60, passed away at his sister’s home in Troy on July 29, 2012. 

He was born June 18, 1952, in Douglas, Wyo., to Robert F. and Ella L. (Abel) Jenkins. 

He attended school in Troy. He entered the U.S. Army on Aug. 30, 1972. Floyd was a light weapons infantryman and honorably discharged Sept.  12, 1975. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard and the Reserve of the Army on July 16, 1991. 

He married his soulmate Pamela (Vogel) Spencer on Sept. 20, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nev. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2012, in Bullhead City, Ariz.

Floyd drove a truck doing long hauling for Shaffer Trucking, Inc. out of Wheatland, Wyo., for 28 years and enjoyed all of the country he saw and the people he met. 

Survivors include his mother, Ella L. Jenkins of Libby; sister Bobi and Fred Sullivan and brother Darrell W. Jenkins both of Troy. three nieces: Jeanie and Mike Bonagofski of Centralia, Wash.; Odessa and Rob Hicks of Tacoma, Wash.; Sonya Dobler Melior of Troy, three nephews: Mike Jenkins of Troy; Danny and Eyrn of Libby; Jason Bailey of Centralia, Wash., three great nieces, 10 great-nephews; and 1 great-great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert F. Jenkins, a sister Janice J. Bowen and two brothers Acie Dee and Robert Orand “Frog” Jenkins. 

Graveside services will be held at the Troy Cemetery on Thursday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. Troy VFW Post No. 5514 is in charge of the military honors.

After services refreshments and memories will be at 101 Iron Creek Road.  Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory in Libby.
