Nina Beckstrom, 91, of Libby

Nina Olive Beckstrom, 91, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Libby Care Center of natural causes. 

She was born at Lusk, Wyo., on Feb. 20, 1921, to Lewis and Mary (Modra) Bates, one of eight children. 

Her siblings included sisters Thelma, Wilma, Wanda and brothers Norman, Manley, Arlee and Ronald.

Nina attended school in Lusk and finished in Sandpoint, Idaho.  She married Arnold T. Beckstrom at Thompson Falls on April 20, 1941. They had one son Kenneth L. Beckstrom on Aug. 19, 1944, at Newport, Washington. 

She was a happy housewife and mother and enjoyed companionship with her friends at the Senior Center in Libby.  Her son would like to thank all of the friends and neighbors who came and visited Nina at home. 

She was preceded in death by six of her siblings.

Survivors include her son Kenneth Beckstrom, Libby; and her brother Arlee Bates.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the City of Libby Cemetery.
