Randy R. Leir, 55, of Libby
Randy Ray Leir, 55, of Libby passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012.
Randy was born, May 23, 1956, in Libby to LuRee Stoddard and Richard Leir.
He attended school in Troy Mont., where he graduated in 1974. Randy loved the small town and remained a dear friend to many he went to school with.
Randy moved to Washington where he married Carla Passmore, and they had their two daughters, Ashley and Katie, shortly after they returned to Libby, where his only son Kyle, was born.
Randy worked for Champion International Mill, and then continued on with Stimson upon the takeover where he worked for 14 years. He continued his education at Flathead Community College where he earned his degree as a Licensed Addiction Counselor.
Despite his degree, Randy loved physical labor and went on to work at the Troy Mine for the last six years of his life.
Randy’s work ethic was second to none. Randy was his children’s hero, unable to be replaced. He raised them with unconditional love and the utmost dedication.
His integrity, perseverance, and deep commitment to family can be found in them. He was a loyal son, and the rock of his family.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Chris Leir. He is survived by his mother, LuRee Stoddard of Libby; his three children: Ashley Leir of Kansas City, Katie and husband Jordan Summers, granddaughter Gracie of Richland, Wash., Kyle Leir of Libby, as well as his sister Debbie Becker of Libby, Richard Leir of Washington.
Randy will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
His memorial service was Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the Libby Assembly of God followed by a reception at Wilkinson Hall.
