Ronald G. Maggi, 76, of Troy

| April 5, 2012 7:43 AM

Our father and husband, Ronald G. Maggi, 76, of Troy passed away Friday, March 23, 2012, in Libby.

He was born Sept. 2, 1935, in San Francisco, Calif., to Eugene and Myrtle (Peterson) Maggi. He was raised in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where his parents made their home with their five children.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army after high school, and served four years until his honorable discharge.  He then returned to Bonners Ferry where he met and married Sandra A. Nyre.  They had been married for 50 years.

In 1968, Ron and Sandra moved to Troy where they raised their two children, Tobi and Elaine.

Ron was willing to give most things a try at least once.  He grew a variety of plants and flowers in his yard.  He enjoyed wood-working, and was an avid reader.  He worked in and enjoyed the out doors his entire life.

He had a well-known propensity to live his life his own way, yet there was a soft side just below the surface of his gruff exterior that came through at the right time.

Ron was blessed with the love and admiration of his family and friends.  His laughter, his character, his sway will be deeply, deeply missed.

Ron’s family would like to invite friends and family to stop by their home, 92 Waterfront Road, Troy, at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, to share memories of Ron with them.

Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory in Libby.
