Sometimes it just isn’t your day. That

was the case Saturday for the Lady Loggers volleyball team during

the Bonners Ferry Tournament.

The Lady Loggers won two games in pool

play and then dropped the only game they played in bracket

play.

In pool play they won one game against

Clark Fork, 17-25 25-23 and 13-15; their first game against

Whitefish 25-13, but then dropped the next two 21-25 and 5-15. In

the final pool-play pairing, the Lady Loggers fell in consecutive

games to Priest River 13-25 and 18-25.

In the bracket competition against

Stillwater Christian, the Lady Loggers fell 9-25 to finish the day

2-7.

With the exception of a couple of sets,

it was a pretty ugly showing for us,” Libby Lady Logger coach Cindy

Ostrem-Johnston said. “I was disappointed in their overall play. I

felt we blew an opportunity to get better, (but) we will put this

behind us and move on.”

Johnston said the Loggers had

difficulty in getting quality first serves, at one point missing

six serving opportunities.

“It’s like they get in there and get

rattled and then they lose their confidence,” Johnston said. “I

think they fear making a mistake and then that’s just what we’ve

been doing. It’s like we don’t react well. It’s been a

roller-coaster.”

She does look for better play

ahead.

“I know they can play better. They know

they can play better,” she said.

The Lady Loggers are 1-2 in conference

play.
