Delano Drury 77, of Libby

Delano Bliss “Del” Drury, 77, passed

away Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, in Libby.

He was born to Bliss and Fanny (Gilden)

Drury in Spokane on Aug. 11, 1934.

Del moved to Libby with his family when

he was in the fifth grade. He attended schools in Washington,

California and Montana. Del worked for the railroad as a gandy

dancer during his high school years.

Del also worked for the U.S. Forest

Service before joining the Marines at 18. He was a veteran of the

Korean War.

After serving in the Marine Corps., he

worked as a truck driver in Idaho, then returned to Libby to work

in the mill for St. Regis and Champion. He worked in every area of

the mill for 37 years until his retirement in 1993.

On Dec. 23, 1960, Del married Marjorie

Johnson in Libby. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in

2010.

Del was preceded in death by a son,

Jay; his parents Bliss and Fanny Drury; his sister Barbara Walsh;

nephew Kevin Walsh and cousin Harold Gilden.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie;

sons, Bruce (Tracy), Charles (Janeene) and Tad. Grandchildren

Jennifer, Kyle, Charles, Kenneth, Ryan, Andrew, Kendra, Samantha

and Conner, as well as five great-grandchildren. Other survivors

include sister Beverly, brother-in-law Gene Hamann and family;

brother Rick and sister-in-law Mary Lee Johnson and family; Paul

Johnson and dear friends Floyd and Joyce Gilliam and family; and

Tyrena Drury.

Funeral arrangements are under the

direction of Schnackenburg and Nelson Funeral Home. Services will

at 11 a.m., Friday Oct. 14 at Christ Lutheran Church.
