Libby Fine Arts, Inc. is sponsoring an art demonstration and scholarship fund-raiser and membership drive.

This event is being held in conjunction with the founding of a future Art Gallery planned at 803 Mineral Ave., scheduled to open this spring.

Before 1985 and the beginning of Nordicfest, the Libby Fine Arts sponsored an annual art show in what is now the Memorial Center.

The mission of the Libby Fine Arts is to bring fine art to the community.  The group has done this through  annual art shows, displays in local businesses, (currently in Henry’s Café), and summer displays during June at the Heritage Museum and have had an art show for Nordicfest.

Libby Fine Arts also has given scholarships to Libby High School students with an interest in art, and it has donated art magazines to the Lincoln County Library.

Libby Fine Arts, Inc., takes part in community events related to fine arts.

The group is striving to become more active in the community and to be recognized as the resource for fine arts.

The group is planning an art demonstration Dec. 10 at the future site of Margarite’s Art Gallery, 803 Mineral Ave.

In addition to the demonstration in antler sculpture, this event with be an advance look at the future gallery, a fund-raiser for a scholarship fund and a membership drive in hopes of attracting new members interested in the fine arts.

The public is invited to the event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 10 at 803 Mineral Ave. in Libby.
