New Ambulance
Gary Hurd, one of several volunteer drivers for the Libby-Troy Volunteer Ambulance group, looks over the new van-type ambulance purchased by the group. The new lime-and-orange-colored rig is equipped to handle three stretcher patients at one time. In addition to its roominess, the new ambulance has an extra large oxygen system, a dual ignition system, a heavy-duty heater that will keep the unit warm even with the doors open, and an air conditioning unit for patient comfort in the heat of summer. The unit is equipped for maximum patient treatment for traveling long distances, which is so prevalent in this area. Photo from the Oct. 14, 1971, files of The Western News.
