Cheryl Moody
Cheryl Elizabeth Moody, 70, died
Wednesday afternoon, March, 9, 2011, at her home in Butte.
She was born Sept. 22, 1940, in
Deadwood, S.D., to Stephen and Marjorie (Clem) Champeau. Cheryl was
raised and educated in Butte, graduating from Butte High School in
1958. On Dec. 5, 1958, she and Kenneth Moody were united in
marriage. They moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 1968 where they
resided until 1984. They lived in Libby from 1984 until 1987 when
they returned to Butte.
Cheryl worked 22 years at Butte
Convalescent Center and was an accomplished artist, working
primarily in oils. She loved crossword puzzles and never met a game
she didn’t like. She and Ken were constant visitors of Wild Bill’s
Casino.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Stephen and Marjorie Champeau; stepfather, Bill Pritchett;
and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ernest and Agnes Moody.
Survivors include her husband, Ken
Moody of Butte; daughters and sons-in-law, Melody and Kurt Walters
of Idaho Falls, Kimberly “Sis” Para of Butte, Michelle and David
Garcia of Butte; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Carol Moody
of Yucaipa, Calif.; grandchildren, Michelle Kopcho, Brandon Moody,
Nathan Walters, Adam Para, Brande Smith, Brett Billups, Kari Moody,
Stephen Moody, Jeremy Moody, Rikki Garcia and Marcus Garcia; eight
great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Sharon
Champeau of Butte; and sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Gene
Reynolds of Idaho Falls.
Funeral services were conducted
Saturday at Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed
Pangburn officiating. Cremation followed. Memorials may be made to
Highlands Hospice.
