Kim Elaine Scheer
Kim Elaine Scheer passed from this life
into the light of her eternal life surrounded by her family on
March 6, 2011.
Her courage and determination in the
face of cancer was an inspiration to us all. Oh sweet daughter,
sweet sister, sweet aunt, sweet wife, sweet mother, sweet friend,
we all will miss you so. Though the sorrow of your passing is hard
to bear, we understand that you had to go. May God hold you in his
loving embrace until we meet again.
Kim was born in Shelby, on Feb. 18,
1960 to Robert and Esther Mitchell. She was the youngest daughter
in a family of 12 siblings. She attended grade school in Shelby and
graduated from Shelby High School. She worked for a time at the
O’Haire Manor and also as a dispatcher at the Toole County
Sheriff’s Office where she met her future husband Ordean (O.D.)
Scheer, a patrolman with the Montana Highway Patrol.
They were united in marriage on May
11,1985. While stationed in Shelby, they were blessed with three
children: Samuel, Marcie, and Steven. In 1991, O.D. was transferred
to Libby, and so thus they made that move.
While in Libby, they were blessed with
two more children: Mitchell and Derek. Kim was very proud of her
children and their accomplishments and they were an inspiration to
her. While in Libby and at the time of her death Kim was employed
at Libby Care Center, as Payroll and Human Resources Manager. She
enjoyed hummingbirds, photography, spending time with her family
and friends, boating, the outdoors and bowling.
Kim was preceded in death by her father
Robert W. Mitchell and her step-father Kenneth M. Evans.
She is survived by her husband O.D. and
their five children: Samuel Scheer of Hood River, Ore., Marcie
Scheer Hornsby and husband Matthew Hornsby of Johnstown, Pa.,
Steven Scheer of Hood River, Ore., Mitchell Scheer stationed in
Groton, Conn., serving in the U.S. Navy, and Derek Scheer of Libby;
her mother Esther Evans Kalispell; siblings Jerri and Richard Long
of Palm Desert, Calif., Norval Mitchell of Spokane, Wash., Bernice
Phelps of Castro Valley, Calif., Ken and Charlotte Mitchell of
Spirit Lake, Idaho, Dave Mitchell of Kalispell, Chuck and Nancy
Mitchell of Roundup, Lynn Lunda of Kalispell, Kevin and Elaine
Mitchell of Dunkirk, Ranie and Jim Ahenakew of Las Vegas, Nev.,
Dean Mitchell of Eureka, and Tom and Patricia Evans of Dixon, Ill..
She is also survived by an additional five siblings on her
step-father’s side of her extended family, Ken and Dorie Evans of
Seguine, Texas, Leota Evans of Helena, Antoinette (Twin) and Don
Forbes of Puyallup, Wash., Lora Zimmerman of Helena, and Susan
Evans of Helena and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 13,
2011 from 1-5 p.m. at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home
in Libby and from 10:30 a.m. – noon on Monday at the Libby
Christian Church. Services will be Monday, March 14 at 1 p.m. at
Libby Christian Church.
