CleaninÕ the ÔTÕ No, Jim Hammonds really didnÕt dump his shovelful of dirt onto Joe Davis while Larry Watt enjoyed the scene. But after a few hours of hard labor workers were debating dumping dirt on Hammonds, who reluctantly admitted that the clean-up job was his idea. Some members of the Troy Chamber of Commerce discovered that the clean-up project for the ÒTÓ was a bigger job than expected. One of the chamber projects for the centennial celebration was to spruce up the white rock at the top of the hill behind the high school. Another project was to clean up the big Christmas tree across the street from Gambles. Pictured from left, Larry Watt, Jim Hammonds, Andrea Shaver and Joe Davis. Sally Eggleston and Steve Mendive also assisted in the project. Staff photo from the June 26, 1991, files of The Western News.
