Robert Ford Burdick

Robert Ford (Bob) Burdick, 92, formerly of Libby, died Wednesday June 1, 2011, in Portland, Ore. 

Burdick was born Aug. 10, 1918, in Fort Benton, Mont., to Ford and Winifred Burdick. 

He graduated from the University of Montana at Missoula in 1940, and worked for the U.S. Soil Conservation Service in Winnett, Mont., from 1941-1951 with service in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-1944. 

In 1952, Bob moved his family to Libby where he worked for J. Neils Lumber Co. and its successor St. Regis Paper Co. (1952-1978).

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Betty of 36 years. 

Survivors include his wife for the past 26 years, Margie Burdick of Portland, son Jim Burdick of Wenatchee, Wash., son Ken Burdick of Eugene, Ore., daughter Nancy Burdick of Tillamook, Ore.
