The Lincoln County Spelling Bee will be

staged this year on Feb. 22 at the Lincoln County High School

auditorium in Eureka. The event for students in grades 5-8 begins

at 1 p.m.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee

organization implemented a registration fee for all Montana schools

wishing to compete at the national level. Practice words are

available to any student whether they are from a registered school

or not at www.myspellit.com.

Students can also find a “My Spell It”

test link on the Scripps website where spellers can be quizzed on

randomly-selected words.

Public, private and home schools will

be holding local contests to choose their representatives to the

county bee.

The winner of the county bee will move

on to the state bee in Billings on March 26.

For more information on the county bee,

call Ron Higgins, Lincoln County superintendent of schools and

county bee director, at 293-7781, ext. 249.
