Libby City Council meets Monday evening

The Libby City Council will gather on Monday for a special meeting at 6 p.m., and its regular meeting at 7 p.m., in the council chambers at city hall.

During the special meeting, the council will talk with Ryan Jones of Morrison-Maierle about Flower Creek Dam.

The regular meeting's agenda includes a chat with Libby Schools superintendent Kirby Maki, a variance for a birth and mothering center, International Paper settlement funds, a vote on a loan resolution for the wastewater plant project, ordinance readings on adopting fire codes and building codes, a resolution to continue Allan Payne representation and an emergency resolution to allow wood-burning stoves to burn during cold winter months when air quality is poor.

The council will also review payroll and claims for December, business licenses received to date and liquor, wine and beer licenses for 2011.
