Paint It Pink earns recognition

The American Hospital recently

recognized St. John’s Lutheran Hospital in Libby for its Paint It

Pink program.

Paint It Pink, started by St. John’s

and Glacier Bank, was singled out as an example of a program that

ensures that everyone gets the care they need regardless of ability

to pay.

PIP provides free or discounted

mammograms to uninsured and underinsured women in Libby and Troy,

and aims to fill the gap between women with comprehensive insurance

and women who qualify for mammograms under federal or state

programs.

Since the program’s inception two years

ago, $10,400 has been raised, and 81 area women have received both

screening and diagnostic mammograms.
