Reesie 'Theresa' Hammer

Reesie “Theresa” Hammer, 90, a longtime

resident of Lincoln County, died of natural causes on Saturday,

Jan. 29, 2011 at her home in Libby.

She was born Feb. 23, 1920 in Wilkes

County, Ga., to Clinton and Ruth Waters Agee. She grew up and

attended school in Harlem, Ga., and graduated from Harlem High

School with the class of 1937. She then attended Georgia Tech

University where she earned a degree in nursing.

She married Robert Hammer in 1955 in

Sidney. They made their home in Williston, N.D., for a few years

and moved to Libby in 1957. In 1967, they moved to Troy.

She enjoyed babies, macramé, knitting,

needlepoint and Elvis Presley.

Her husband, Robert, three sisters and

a brother preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Robert

Hammer of Libby; Rita Lind of Troy; grandchildren, Phillip Hammer

of Libby; Bailey Hammer of Boise, Idaho; Jacob Hammer and wife Jenn

of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Rochelle Miller and husband Gregg of

Spirit Lake, Idaho; Tiffany Lind of Coeur d’Alene; eight

great-grandchildren (with a ninth on the way); and two sisters,

Janet Cawley of Martinez, Ga.; and Vivian Helm of Atlanta, Ga.

Services will be Friday, Feb. 11 at 2

p.m., at the Kootenai Chapel in Troy.
