Lady Trojans drop pair of road games
The Troy High School girls basketball
team could not match baskets in road-game losses at Noxon and
Plains.
The Lady Trojans opened their weekend
with a fairly good first half on Friday at Noxon. But the Red
Devils pulled away in the second half for a 42-27 victory.
Troy led 11-10 through eight minutes
and trailed only 17-15 at halftime. In the third quarter, the
Devils outscored Troy, 15-7, and continued to play good defense in
the fourth.
Jackie Pepiot led the Trojans with
eight points.
Troy experienced a repeat the following
day at Plains. After staying within striking distance in the first
half, the Lady Trojans had third-quarter problems in what ended up
as a 57-38 loss.
Plains held leads of 10-8 at the end of
the first and 28-21 at halftime. The Trotters outscored Troy, 18-4,
in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
Troy had lost to Plains by just seven
points in the first matchup between the two schools on Dec. 20.
Pepiot again led THS in scoring with 17
points. Kimmy Klin added nine.
Troy (0-8, 0-13) will head to Misson on
Friday. The varsity game is expected to tip-off at 7 p.m. The girls
then come home to the Troy Activity Center on Saturday to face
