Doris J. Stacy, 86, a longtime Libby resident died Monday Aug. 8, 2011, at the Libby Care Center from natural causes. 

She was born Aug. 31, 1924, in Libby to James and Myrtel Teeple Gass. She grew up and attended school in Libby and graduated from Libby High School with the class of 1942. 

She had worked as a telephone operator, as a cook for the forest service and had manned a lookout during fire season. 

Doris married John Boothman and they raised four children. After his death she married Carl Stacy who was later killed in a logging accident. 

Doris moved to California where she worked as a cook until she was injured in a car accident in August of 1978.  She has been a resident of the Libby Care Center for the past 30 years. 

Doris enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and traveling.  Doris was preceded in death by her two husbands and a son, Robert James Boothman.

Survivors include a sister Ethel Anderson of Libby; children Carmen Feak and husband Ed, John Boothman and wife Betty, Paul Boothman all of Libby; and Rockey Gooding of Billings, Mont.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday Aug. 18, 2011, at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
