Celebration planned at clinic
The Spokane Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Libby Clinic will host a reception from 1-3 p.m. Saturday to celebrate their partnership to offer health-care services to veterans in the region.
Among those planning to attend the event at Libby Clinic (211 E. Second Ave.) are Sandy Nielsen, director of the Spokane VAMC; Glenne Gunther, Libby Clinic chief executive officer; Kirby Campbell, Congressional staff member for Sen. Max Baucus; and Bruce Knutson, Congressional staff member for Sen. Jon Tester.
The clinic has been operational and seen more than 200 veterans to date. Previously, veterans had to travel to the nearest VA facility in Spokane for all health-care services.
Veterans who need more information about the clinic or VA health-care benefits are encouraged to attend.
