U Serve Libby Inc., reported last week that it is moving closer to winning a $25,000 grant through the Pepsi Refresh Project.

Libby finished among the top 100 in voting in September for another try at a grant in October. Organizers are asking community members for a big push to improve the organization’s ranking.

“It has been exciting to watch the numbers drop. Since Aug. 1, we have gone from 294 to 48,” U Serve Libby treasurer Laurie Mari said. “At the beginning of each month there is a new shuffle of ideas and we can come out higher than where we ended on the last day of the previous month. But overall, we are moving in the right direction. We just need people to stick with us and see it through until we win it.”

The grant would be used to pay for the remainder of the construction on the Libby Community Tennis Courts.

To vote online or through texting, go to www.refresheverything.com/libbytenniscourts, sign in and click on “Vote for This Idea.” The public can also vote directly from Facebook. Go to U Serve Libby’s Facebook page to find a voting link. Another way to vote is by texting 101307 to Pepsi (73774) each day.

Americans ages 13 and older can vote.
