The Yaak Valley Forest Council plans to host a meeting about Forest Restoration Workforce opportunities at 6 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 18 at the Hot Club in Troy.

The meeting’s agenda will feature discussion of restoration job opportunities available on the Kootenai National Forest and private lands, and how to take advantage of an industry that many believe is growing.

Tracy McIntyre, Montana Cooperative Development Center’s Co-op specialist and director of Eureka Rural Development Partners, will do a powerpoint presentation on the Tobacco Valley Industrial District and Wood Development Center.

The meeting will also include a short presentation on successful projects currently working in Oregon and other parts of Montana. General discussion to brainstorm economic opportunities in the Troy-Yaak area will follow.
