Art Williams of Kalispell, a lifelong lover of books, recently made a large donation of books to the Lincoln County Public Libraries.

Williams threw open the door to his home and invited the library to “take it all.” Staff transported close to 3,000 books from Williams’ home in Kalispell to the Libby Library.

“The collection, consisting mostly of popular fiction, has allowed us to fill in missing parts of series and has helped us replace copies that are worn out,” said Sami Pierson, director of the libraries.

Pierson said the library is still sorting through most of the books.

“Donations of current, popular titles are always appreciated and help stretch the limited materials budget in Lincoln County,” said Melody Condron, collections management librarian. “These materials will be used by not only the three libraries in the county but also throughout the state thanks to the partnership Libby has with 22 other libraries.”
