Thomas E. O’Neil, 77, died on Oct. 6, 2010, at his residence in Troy.

He was born Nov. 4, 1932, at Choteau, the son of John R. and Grace (Allum) O’Neil.

He married Myrna Smith on May 17, 1968 at Libby. He worked on road construction and retired from Burlington Northern Railroad in 1990.

He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, and his grandkids and great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce O’Neil.

Survivors include his wife, Myrna of Troy; children, Loren “Larry” O’Neil and wife Chris of Okinawa, Japan; Diana Bauer and husband Jack of Columbia Falls; Dacia O’Neil of Troy; and Deena Cook and husband Steve of Troy; grandchildren, Kamara Schultz and husband DeGeo; Jaime Bernal; Tim O’Neil; Grant, Miranda and Ricky Bauer; Christopher and Daniel Stone; Katie Reed and husband Jesse; and Jed Cook; numerous adopted grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services were scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. at Kootenai Chapel in Troy.

Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby handled arrangements.
