LHS soccer girls fall in 2 league games

The Libby High School girls soccer team dropped back-to-back conference games last week with losses of 3-0 to Bigfork and 5-0 to Columbia Falls.

Bigfork scored twice over a two-minute stretch of the first half. Caitlin Charlebois found the net in the 23rd and 25th minutes. McKinze Shults and Kenna Hauns had assists. In the second half, Shults scored in the 67th minute unassisted for a 3-0 lead.

Libby keeper Jenny Johnson came away with 15 saves.

On Saturday, Columbia Falls posted a 5-0 victory over Libby. Four of those goals came in the second half.

Danielle Delventhal gave Columbia Falls a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute. McKenzie Kiser scored in the 50th minute and Cedar Jordt followed up with a goal in the 62nd minute. The Wildkats also benefitted from an “own goal” shot in the 70th minute and a Kiser goal in the 77th minute.

For the Lady Loggers, Johnson had four saves.

Columbia Falls goes to 6-1 in the conference, 8-2 overall.

Libby (1-5, 3-7) was scheduled to play at Whitefish on Tuesday. The team’s next game is slated for 11 a.m., Saturday at home against Polson.
