Snowfall in the Libby area caused a handful of minor accidents on Tuesday in the late morning and early afternoon.

No one was seriously injured in the four accidents that appeared in incident reports provided by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

At 11:12 a.m., a slide-off was reported on Highway 2 on a curve near mile marker 24. At 12:29 p.m. a vehicle reportedly slid into a pole near Main Avenue and West Cedar Street.

Less than 15 minutes later, an SUV was reported in the ditch on Highway 2 near mile marker 50. Emergency responders were called to the scene in case the driver was trapped in his vehicle but it turned out that the motorist was elderly and stayed in the car to keep warm. He refused ambulance service, according to sheriff reports.

At 1:25 p.m., a van was discovered on its side about 3.5 miles down Farm to Market Road, south of town.

Conditions were better in the Troy area that day, resulting in no reports of weather-related accidents.
