Harry P. Kraft Jr.

Harry P. Kraft Jr., 61, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at his home in Libby from natural causes.

He was born Dec. 30, 1948 in Lexington, Neb., to Harry and Eva Griffes Kraft. He grew up and attended school in Cozad, Neb., and graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1967.

Harry entered the U.S. Marines and fought in Vietnam. In 1971, he married Sandra Haslup in Hawthorn, Nev. He worked at feedlots in Arizona for a while. Then he worked for Bellamy Elevators in Cozad and for the Sheriff’s Department in Lexington. He moved to Billings and worked for the post office, retiring in 1985.

In 1986, he moved to Little Rock, Ark., to go to seminary. Two years later, he moved to Arizona and pastored a church. He then moved back to Arkansas. In 1990, Harry went to work for Pinkerton Security as a captain, supervising the whole state. He moved back to Billings in 1994 and then to Libby in 1995, where he pastored the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

Harry enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Kraft of Libby; children, Angil Kraft of Libby; Samuel L. Kraft II and wife, Jody, of Libby; eight granddaughters and one grandson; brothers and sisters Aaron Kraft and wife, Candy, of Kansas; Barbara Moler and husband, David, of Cozad; Ruthie Luallen and husband, Burt, of Kansas; Susan Parra of Georgia; Samuel L. Kraft and wife, Lynn, of Libby; and mother, Eva J. Kraft, of Cozad; and many nieces and nephews and their children.

Services will be Friday, Nov. 19 at noon at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home, 422 W. Second St., in Libby. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Thursday.
