Annual holiday bazaar set for Friday, Saturday
The Heritage Museum’s annual holiday
bazaar is coming up Nov. 5-6.
The event will run from 5-8 p.m., on
Friday, Nov. 5 and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 6.
Wood crafts, baskets, needlecrafts,
jewelry, photographs, candles, artwork, holiday décor, baked goods,
candies and more will be available for purchase.
The museum will also have a table that
features items and gift certificates donated by local merchants and
friends of the museum. All money earned at that table goes directly
to the museum.
Kathy Lauer’s prize-winning chili will
be served in the cookhouse Friday evening. Saturday’s menu headed
up by Marge Kroeger and her crew will feature grilled burgers,
polish sausages and homemade soup. Dessert items include homemade
pie, cake and cookies.
“The holiday bazaar is the museum’s
main fundraiser of the year,” volunteer Laurie Mari said. “With
only three months of expenses, the museum depends on the holiday
bazaar to cover the yearly insurance premium and the winter heating
bills.”
The raffle provides a large portion of
the profit. Raffle prizes include $100, dinner for two at the
Venture Inn and MK Steakhouse, and numerous third prizes.
Raffle tickets ($1 each or six for $5)
are available from museum volunteers or at Naturally Good Things
(313 California Ave.) or at the museum.
