An early glance at school board candidates in Troy reveals that longtime member Sylvia Maffit does not plan to seek re-election. Darren Coldwell’s seat is also up this term and he also does not plan to run.

Three candidates had filed for the two full-term positions as of presstime Wednesday – Joseph Arts, Douglas Chapel and Joseph Pepiot. The last day to file is March 25.

The Troy School Board election will be held at local polling places on May 4.

In Libby, two full-term trustee positions currently held by Tracy Comeau and Gary Huntsberger will be up for grabs.

Comeau was the only candidate who filed as of presstime Wednesday. Candidates have until March 25 to file with the Libby Schools Superintendent’s office.

Ballots for the Libby mail-in election are tentatively scheduled to be mailed out April 9 and must be returned to the Lincoln County Courthouse by May 4.
